Restoration

At Wright Tech, restoration and maintenance are fundamental to the way we manage and care for our heritage sites.

We have developed a dedicated in-house restoration facility where artefacts from across our sites can be assessed, conserved and restored by our growing team of restoration specialists. Keeping this expertise in-house allows us to take a hands-on approach to the collections in our care, from smaller individual objects through to larger military and industrial artefacts.

Our restoration team continues to grow as we expand our collection and the number of historic sites under our management. Wherever possible, our philosophy is to preserve the character and history of an object while ensuring it can be safely displayed and interpreted for the public.

That same approach extends to the historic sites themselves. A dedicated maintenance team operates as part of our wider restoration department, undertaking the continuous programme of preventative maintenance, repairs and conservation required to care for historic buildings and visitor attractions.

For us, restoration does not end when a project opens. Heritage sites require constant attention, and by combining restoration and maintenance within one team, we can respond quickly to issues while developing the long-term knowledge needed to properly understand and care for each site.

This in-house capability has become an increasingly important part of Wright Tech, allowing us not only to develop new heritage experiences but to take responsibility for their continued preservation long after the initial restoration is complete.
