Our involvement has focused on helping transform a functioning historic lighthouse into an accessible and sustainable heritage attraction, drawing on our experience operating visitor sites and balancing conservation with the practical and commercial requirements of tourism.
Wright Tech provided funding towards the project as well as operational and commercial guidance throughout its development. This included contributing to the visitor journey, ticketing and booking systems, interpretation, branding, marketing, site operations and the development of additional opportunities such as private visits, events and educational experiences.
A central objective has been to ensure that opening the lighthouse to visitors complements its continuing operational role while creating an experience worthy of one of Gibraltar’s most recognisable landmarks.
The project represents an important collaboration between the Gibraltar Heritage Trust, Trinity House and Wright Tech, combining heritage expertise, lighthouse stewardship and tourism experience to provide public access to a site that has historically remained largely inaccessible.
As the project develops, the ambition is for the lighthouse to become more than a single visit, with an evolving programme of tours, community initiatives, educational activities and special experiences helping establish Europa Point as an increasingly important part of Gibraltar’s heritage offering.
